We understand that being a homeowner can provide stability, create solid financial futures, and foster healthy neighborhoods. That's why HomeSight offers homebuyer education and financial counseling as an integral part of our mission. Our homebuyer specialists support and guide customers through the challenges of purchasing their first home or fighting to save their home from foreclosure. We help our customers prepare financially for owning a home through our homebuyer class and through individualized one-on-one counseling sessions. And in the event of a possible foreclosure, our housing specialists will assist our customers in hopes of avoiding foreclosure.
Teresa Seeley, a NeighborWorks certified housing counselor, joined the HomeSight team in March 2013. She works directly with customers who are purchasing their first home and also with those facing potential foreclosure. Teresa has extensive professional history in the credit counseling arena. She has worked in the nonprofit sector since 1997, initially helping individuals and families rebuild their credit and financial health through consumer credit counseling. In 2005, she transitioned into first-time homebuyer services and foreclosure counseling, and notes that her favorite part of the job is “helping people get ready to purchase a home and sharing in the joy of becoming a homeowner.”
Teresa can also relate to HomeSight clients facing the threat of foreclosure, as she has faced this hardship. It motivates her to do everything she can to help families stay in their homes.
Teresa is a Washington State native and an avid Seattle Seahawks fan. She lost her voice a few times as part of the 12th man crusade spurring the Seahawks to their first Super Bowl victory. She loves her community and enjoys laughing and making memories with her neighbors, family and friends.
