SUMMARY:HUD Homeownership Fair
DESCRIPTION:At the HUD House Party- Homeownership Resource Fair Event\, you’ll have the chance to connect with our banking partners from Chase\, HomeSight\, BECU\, Umpqua\, and Verity Credit Union to learn about the steps to homeownership\, and how to get pre-approved for a home mortgage. They will also provide information about downpayment assistance programs that can help you get into your new home. \n\n\n\n\n\nWe will have representatives from the Black Home Initiative that will provide outreach\, pre-purchase counseling\, and learning for Black Homebuyers. The goal is to create an opportunity for 1\,500 low-and-moderate income Black households to a own a home in South Seattle\, South King County\, North Pierce County within the next five years. \nWashington State Housing Finance Commission representatives will provide information about The Covenant Homeownership Program\, a new program and funding source that helps people who have been impacted by discrimination to become homeowners. \nThere will be representative from Habitat for Humanity who will offer homebuyer education classes and provide information about their debt remediation program that relieves debt up to $50K for qualifying individuals. \nHUD’s Fair Housing and Equal Opportunity (FHEO) will also be onsite to share information housing discrimination and inform you about your rights\, including fair housing complaints and their in conducting compliance reviews. \nDon’t miss out on this incredible opportunity to network\, gain knowledge\, and take steps towards homeownership.
